Bug#418854: xserver-xorg-core: Dual head randomly lockups machine hard

Consider it closed. I eventually got a new system. Different hardware (intel graphics). best regards roland On Sun, 2010-03-07 at 11:18 +0100, Brice Goglin wrote: On Wed, Apr 18, 2007 at 03:45:16PM +0200, Roland Lezuo wrote: What about xserver-xorg-video-nv? Could you with xserver-xorg-core currently in experimental? The nvidia or fglrx driver might not work with it. But, there is some new xserver-xorg-video-nv and xserver-video-vesa in expermintal that should work. Thanks, Brice
Bug#418854: xserver-xorg-core: Dual head randomly lockups machine hard
The vesa driver from xorg/unstable works fine for me. No lockups in a few days usage. Neitherless i gave xorg/experimental a quick try - vesa worked, fglrx did not, but I do not see the points as i can't use dual head this way, can I ? regards roland lezuo smime.p7s Description: S/MIME cryptographic signature

You said you were able to reproduce the lockup with this driver in unstable? If you can't anymore with xserver-xorg-video-nv in experimental (which needs xserver-xorg-core from experimental too), it means something got fixed in the meantime. And if this fix was in the server, the problem might disappear with nvidia/fglrx then (once they get updated for the latest Xserver).
