I don't know if this patch had been already fixed or not, but the attached patchfiles fix the the reported bug with kernel 2.6.22. The patchfiles were built taking code from various other patchfiles addressing similar issues with rt2500/2700 based cards. The patch has been successfully tested with an rt2571-based usb wireless adapter.
