Oh, believe me, it doesn't. :) I just spent a week figuring this thing
out, and succeeded deleting the file manually.
BTW, I'm lucky I've found the solution in Ubuntu's Launchpad

Hi,
but it removes that file:
GParted_Core::~GParted_Core()
{
if ( p_filesystem )
delete p_filesystem ;
//remove .fdi file..
remove( /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/gparted-disable-
automount.fdi ) ;
}
Alan
Package: gparted
Version: 0.3.3-2
Severity: important
This bug was already discussed weeks ago on debian-gtk-gnome. See the archive
around june/july 2007. As it is still not reported, I do it.
Brief summary: as one uses gparted it creates a file
Gnome BTS back (maybe it was a local problem) but as it seems this
_excat_ thing was not reported but things that have to do with the
issue. See
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=324220#c36
too.
greets
Michael
