Bug#446550: mysql is not ipv6-aware

2009-07-05 Thread Christian Hammers
Hi

Just for the record, according to the bug report, IPv6 comes with MySQL-6.0.
Can we downgrade the severity for the 5.x version to wishlist?
important bugs always jump into my eyes and we cannot do anything about it.

bye,

-christian-

Bug#446550: mysql is not ipv6-aware

2007-10-13 Thread Steve Langasek
Source: mysql-dfsg-5.0
Version: 5.0.45-1
Severity: important
Tags: upstream ipv6

The current version of mysql apparently doesn't support IPv6 at all. The
5.0.32 (etch) server I have running only listens on IPv4 sockets, and
libmysqlclient 5.0.45 uses gethostbyname_r() to look up hostnames, which is
not IPv6-aware.

I don't know if mysql 5.1 in experimental does any better with this, but it
would be nice to have IPv6 support in mysql for lenny; IPv6 is not just for
in front of the firewall. :)
