In my opinion, the stick should be disabled. The Windows control panel for Synaptic touchpads has this option; when selected, the stick no longer moves the mouse. I expect the same behaviour. It seems that the stick gets its own /dev/input/mouse* device when the machine is booting. Perhaps when
