This bug is not reproductible at all here. Moreover I do run deluge with
python 2.4 here and no problem.
If you read carefully the traceback you will notice this line:
"AssertionError: pygtk.require() must be called before importing gtk"
So I assume the problem comes from python-gtk2 and this bug is probably
not reproductible here because I don't have the same python-gtk release
as you.
I checked __init__.py from deluge-torrent and upstream added a call to
"pygtk.require" before importing gtk python module, so everything should
be okay now.
I'm uploading deluge 0.5.8 during next days and will close this bug with
this upload.
