Package: bindgraph Version: 0.2a-3 Severity: important I've upgraded the package and on all hosts the custom configuration file /etc/default/bindgraph is being replaced without warning.
I've found that it creates the file based on the debconf information obtained at the installation (not on upgrades), but it should not modify the configuration file. Other packages are asking for confirmation and even if the answer is YES to replace the file, the old file is moved to something like OLDNAME-old. If the answer is NO, than the new configuration file is created with NAME-new. Though, this has never happened with an file from /etc/default/ directory. Another problem is that the fileslist from the package doesn't have this file: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -S /etc/default/bindgraph dpkg: /etc/default/bindgraph not found. I recommend to do the following: * include the /etc/default/bindgraph in the fileslist; * create the file only at install, not on upgrades. I'm not raising the priority higher than important as this is the mantainer's decision.
