Bug#503607: Announce of the upcoming NMU for the mlmmj package

2009-11-14 Thread Christian Perrier
Quoting Christian Perrier (bubu...@kheops.frmug.org):
The latest package is in progress. There's quite a few changes that need
doing, so I probably should leave them for another package release. I
really want to get the latest version of mlmmj into sid.

 Any news, here, Daniel?

Ping again. Has there been some progress?

I'm happy for you to do the NMU for the language translations. Please be
aware of bug #553548 and #553550.

I probably can't fix these ones, that certainly require a deeper
knowledge of the package than mine.

Bug#503607: Announce of the upcoming NMU for the mlmmj package

2009-11-14 Thread Christian Perrier
Dear maintainer of mlmmj and Debian translators,

Some days ago, I sent a notice to the maintainer of the mlmmj Debian
package, mentioning the status of at least one old po-debconf translation
update in the BTS.

I announced the intent to build and possibly upload a non-maintainer upload
for this package in order to fix this long-time pending localization
bug as well as all other pending translations.

The package maintainer agreed for the NMU or did not respond in four
days, so I will proceed with the NMU.

The full planned schedule is available at the end of this mail.

The package is currently translated to:
cs de es eu fi fr it ja nl pt ru sv vi

Among these, the following translations are incomplete: none

If you did any of the, currently incomplete, translations you will get
ANOTHER mail with the translation to update.

Other translators also have the opportunity to create new translations
for this package. Once completed, please send them as a bug report
against the mlmmj package so I can incorporate them in the build.

The deadline for receiving updates and new translations is Friday, November 20,
2009. If you
are not in time you can always send your translation to the BTS.

The POT file is attached to this mail.

If the maintainer objects to this process I will immediately abort my NMU
and send him/her all updates I receive.

Otherwise the following will happen (or already has):

Friday, September 18, 2009 : send the first intent to NMU notice to
 the package maintainer.
Saturday, November 14, 2009 : send this notice
Friday, November 20, 2009 : (midnight) deadline for receiving
translation updates
Saturday, November 21, 2009 : build the package and upload it to
DELAYED/7-day
send the NMU patch to the BTS
Saturday, November 28, 2009 : NMU uploaded to incoming

Thanks for your efforts and time.

Accepting here basically means that everything under /var/spool/mlmmj and /
etc/mlmmj/lists will be removed when this package is purged. Also please
note that any changes you might have made to /etc/aliases will not be unmade
automatically when this package is removed. (A notice will be displayed
however, to remind you to clean up your aliases.)

OK. Please notice that it's not uncommon that some translators send
translations during the few days I leave them between the NMU
announcement I send and the real NMU.

So, I'd recommend waiting for the delay announced in my NMU
announcement mail, if you can.

In any case, I suspend my NMU intent, of course. Thanks for your quick
answer.
