Dear Paul, I wish to have "--copy-devices" option as well. It will be best to implement it using upstream patch "copy-devices.diff" provided in "rsync-patches-$(VER).tar.gz" from
https://rsync.samba.org/ftp/rsync/src/
This functionality is quite useful. As a matter of fact lack of
"--copy-devices" in rsync is the only reason for #724344 but I'd
rather teach rsync to do it than introduce yet another utility.
