Guess need another contact. By the way, what is the amount of bandwidth available ? Server is connected to 1 Gigabit ethernet card and switch. And the Internet connection to this server is 1 Gbps as well ? :) Officialy we can declare 100 Mbit network connection. Basically, disable the update temporarly, then give ownership of the mirrored archive to your dedicated regular user, then run ftpsync as this same regular user, then crontab it.
