Which versions of liblrdf0, gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad and libdvdread4 do you have installed? Also, could you get a valgrind log for this? Do you have, by any chance, gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg installed and the libavcodec52/etc packages from Debian Multimedia or another third party repository? Otherwise, please run pidgin from a terminal and paste the output into this bug. strace/ltrace would be useless but a backtrace with gdb or a valgrind log would be useful. signature.asc Description: Dies ist ein digital signierter Nachrichtenteil
Bug#523345: gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad: Confirmed Pidgin crash
Package: gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad Version: 0.10.11-2+b1 Severity: normal I can also confirm that Pidgin crashes when a connection to a Jabber server is done with gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad installed. When no Jabber server is used, the program runs ok. Also, when gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad is removed (even keeping the packages it depends on), the program doesn't crash when connecting to Jabber servers. I can provide an ltrace and an strace of a crash if you need it. However, I may need to clean them up a little. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.29-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=ca_ES.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ca_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad depends on: ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-base 0.10.22-5GStreamer plugins from the "base" ii libasound2 1.0.19-1 shared library for ALSA applicatio ii libass3 0.9.6-1 library for SSA/ASS subtitles rend ii libbz2-1.0 1.0.5-1 high-quality block-sorting file co ii libc6 2.9-7GNU C Library: Shared libraries pn libcdaudio1(no description available) pn libcelt0 (no description available) pn libdc1394-22 (no description available) ii libdca0 0.0.5-2 decoding library for DTS Coherent ii libdirectfb-1.2-0 1.2.7-2 direct frame buffer graphics - sha ii libdvdnav4 4.1.3-3 DVD navigation library ii libdvdread4 4.1.3-5 library for reading DVDs ii libexempi3 2.1.0-3 library to parse XMP metadata (Lib ii libexif12 0.6.17-1 library to parse EXIF files ii libfaad02.6.1-3.1freeware Advanced Audio Decoder - ii libgcc1 1:4.3.3-8GCC support library ii libglib2.0-02.20.1-1 The GLib library of C routines pn libgmyth0 (no description available) ii libgsm1 1.0.12-1 Shared libraries for GSM speech co ii libgstreamer-plugins-base0. 0.10.22-5GStreamer libraries from the "base ii libgstreamer0.10-0 0.10.22-3Core GStreamer libraries and eleme ii libiptcdata01.0.3-1 Library to parse IPTC metadata ii libjack00.116.1-4JACK Audio Connection Kit (librari ii libjasper1 1.900.1-5.1 The JasPer JPEG-2000 runtime libra pn liblrdf0 (no description available) pn libmms0(no description available) ii libmodplug0c2 1:0.8.4-5shared libraries for mod music bas ii libmpcdec3 1:1.2.2-2.1 Musepack (MPC) format library pn libmusicbrainz4c2a (no description available) ii libneon27-gnutls0.28.2-6.1 An HTTP and WebDAV client library pn libofa0(no description available) ii liboil0.3 0.3.15-1 Library of Optimized Inner Loops ii libsndfile1 1.0.19-2 Library for reading/writing audio pn libsoundtouch1c2 (no description available) ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8g-16SSL shared libraries ii libstdc++6 4.3.3-8 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 pn libwildmidi0 (no description available) ii libx11-62:1.2.1-1X11 client-side library ii libxml2 2.7.3.dfsg-1 GNOME XML library gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad recommends no packages. gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad suggests no packages. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
