Same here with Samsung ML-1520 and splix 2.0.0-2. My acroread uses the following command line for printing (as shown in the printer properties window):
lpr -P Samsung_ML-1520_USB_1 -o PageSize=A4 -o PageRegion=A4 -o InputSlot=Auto -o MediaType=NORMAL -o Altitude=HIGH -o PowerSave=5 -o TonerDensity=3 -o EconoMode=0 -o JamRecovery=False -o ColorModel=Gray -o Resolution=600dpi -o Duplex=None If this command is issued from a terminal, the same error occurs. The offending option seems to be "-o PageRegion A4". If it is left out, the printer works fine. Unfortunately, this option can not be set from acroread's printing dialogue.
