Hmm, never even thought someone wouldn't have a sources.list at all. As a quick fix create an empty /etc/apt/sources.list file. As a side note: As of version 15 the existing sources.list file is not modified any more. Instead modified files are created in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/, /etc/apt/amd64 and /etc/apt/i386 only. Even for your existing files in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ there will be corresponding modified files prefixed with "ia32-apt-get." in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ after the conversion. They are required for ia32-apt-get to work. If it werent for the above error stopping the script it would have created new modified files for you too.
