I cannot reproduce this problem. If I create a RAID0 (use LVM
anyway!) and remove a disk, zero the superblock and restart the
system, it comes up saying
Assembling MD array md2... failed (not enough devices).
but doesn't log problems or cause CPU sweating.
I have the same problem, except I'm not sure it spams syslog. Found it
taking 100% CPU. strace looks like this:
