Bug#555895: O: libmusicbrainz-2.1
Hi Jens, I wanted to prepare a QA upload of the orphaned package libmusicbrainz-2.1, but noticed that you're in Uploaders. Are you interested in adopting it? Bug#555895: O: libmusicbrainz-2.1
2009/12/14 Yavor Doganov ya...@gnu.org: I wanted to prepare a QA upload of the orphaned package libmusicbrainz-2.1, but noticed that you're in Uploaders. Are you interested in adopting it? I was put as uploader because I was sponsor initially. I have been thinking about adopting it, but have been somewhat busy (with mercurial-buildpackage among other things) and also a bit worried about http://musicbrainz.org/doc/libmusicbrainz which states that This version of the client library uses the old RDF web service and should not be used in new development. I guess the right thing to do is fix the bugs in 2.1.5 and in addition upload version 3.0.2. I will try to get around to it soon I hope... IOW, should I keep my hands off? No, please go ahead and NMU. Cheers, -- Jens Peter Secher. _DD6A 05B0 174E BFB2 D4D9 B52E 0EE5 978A FE63 E8A1 jpsecher gmail com_. A. Because it breaks the logical sequence of discussion. Q. Yes, it's considered obsolete, but still widely used. I guess the right thing to do is fix the bugs in 2.1.5 Only one bug, the FTBFS on GNU/Hurd. #384139 is marked as unreproducible by the previous maintainer (also upstream). and in addition upload version 3.0.2. It's in Debian since quite some time now (libmusicbrainz3). But only gnome-mplayer uses it AFAICS. I guess I'll have to port my package cynthiune.app to the new API one day... IOW, should I keep my hands off? No, please go ahead and NMU. Thanks for the green light; I'll prepare a QA upload soon. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Package: wnpp Severity: normal This is a C/C++ client library for the MusicBrainz web service. It's been deprecated upstream, ideally no package in Debian should depend on it. It will stop working with the next MusicBrainz server release. I no longer use Debian as my OS. Even though I'd like to keep maintaining this package, I'm afraid I don't have enough time to do it. -- Lukas Lalinsky lalin...@gmail.com -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
