Bug#564514: Fails to start up due to missing tables

2011-04-11 Thread Torquil Macdonald Sørensen
Package: akonadi-backend-mysql
Version: 1.5.1-1
Followup-For: Bug #564514

Yeah. I'm running the KDE4.6.1 from

http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org/

and have the same problem. I have no mysql_install_db command and
cannot attempt that fix. I have the virtuoso-minimal DB server
installed, which was selected automatically by the dependencies.

The fix described at

http://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi_4.4/Troubleshooting#Table_.27mysql._servers.27_doesn.27t_exist

doesn't seem to work.

Best regards
Torquil Sørensen

Bug#564514: Fails to start up due to missing tables

2011-04-11 Thread Torquil Macdonald Sørensen
Package: akonadi-backend-mysql
Version: 1.5.1-1
Followup-For: Bug #564514

I had completely misunderstood the purpose of the virtuoso server and mysql.
I have now installed mysql-server-5.1 to have access to mysql_install_db,
which allowed me to fix the problem as described in the earlier reply here.

Bug#564514: Fails to start up due to missing tables

2010-03-23 Thread Marcel Dischinger
Package: akonadi-server
Version: 1.3.1-2
Severity: normal

Hi,

I hit the same problem but was able to fix it following instructions on
http://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi#Table_.27mysql._servers.27_doesn.27t_exist

I simply ran

   mysql_install_db --datadir=$HOME/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/

and the problems went away.
I am not sure why I had to do this andy why akonadi cannot do this when
running for the first time (I removed everything akonadi-related in
~/.local in an attempt to fix the problem).

Thanks,
Marcel
