I have not yet looked at http://github.com/sargon/trayer-srg but I agree that it would be a good thing to merge fixes back in.
I do not know when I will get around to do a merge, though. If you want to, you can use http://hg.debian.org/hg/collab-maint/trayer as a starting point for a merge; that repository is maintained with mercurial-buildpackage.
