I have forwarded your bug upstream and hopefully Rob will be able to suggest a few more things you could do to help trace the problem. In the meantime, I think I'll drop the severity of the bug report unless I hear from more users who are affected by the problem. This is not to reduce the importance that this bug has on your system, but rather to prevent the package from being removed from squeeze. I'll change it back if others have the same problem.
