Bug#579396: openoffice.org: Spreadsheet Collaboration doesn't work
Hi, sorry, this bug is invalid. Now I got it: there is a temp lock/share file being created in the same directory, where the document exists. It is hidden and strange-named. All sharing users have to have for sure the write permissions to this file as well, which is not being set automatically. Regarding the backports: sure your suggestion is correct, we supposed not all packages we need are backported, we will switch to backports since now. Bug#579396: openoffice.org: Spreadsheet Collaboration doesn't work
Package: openoffice.org Version: 1:3.2.0-8+b1 Severity: important Hi, when trying to establish shared spreadsheet for collaboration of multiple users on one document, I cannot get it running. Following exactly the OOorg's help or any wiki, tutorial did not help: - sharing the document works - any try to open it by other user doesn't work Cite from the help: Opening a spreadsheet The user sees a message that the document is in shared mode and that some features are not available in this mode. The user can disable this message for the future. After clicking OK, the document is opened in shared mode. --- end of cite The mentioned message is displayed only when the same user (author) is re-opening the document. In all other cases no message is displayed and the Title bar says: Read-only and thus the collaboration doesn't work. One more thing: the file has read and write permissions to all. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.4 APT prefers stable APT policy: (700, 'stable'), (650, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-3-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages openoffice.org depends on: ii liblucene2-java 2.9.2+ds1-1 Full-text search engine library fo ii openoffice.org-base 1:3.2.0-8+b1 office productivity suite -- datab ii openoffice.org-calc 1:3.2.0-8+b1 office productivity suite -- sprea ii openoffice.org-core 1:3.2.0-8+b1 office productivity suite -- arch- ii openoffice.org-draw 1:3.2.0-8+b1 office productivity suite -- drawi ii openoffice.org-filter-mobil 1:3.2.0-8office productivity suite -- mobil ii openoffice.org-impress 1:3.2.0-8+b1 office productivity suite -- prese ii openoffice.org-java-common 1:3.2.0-8office productivity suite -- arch- ii openoffice.org-math 1:3.2.0-8+b1 office productivity suite -- equat ii openoffice.org-officebean 1:3.2.0-8+b1 office productivity suite -- Java ii openoffice.org-report-build 1:3.2.0-8+b1 OpenOffice.org extension for build ii openoffice.org-writer 1:3.2.0-8+b1 office productivity suite -- word ii ttf-dejavu 2.25-3 Metapackage to pull in ttf-dejavu- ii ttf-sil-gentium-basic 1.1-1smart Unicode font families (Basic Versions of packages openoffice.org recommends: ii openoffice.org-filter-binfi 1:3.2.0-8+b1 office productivity suite -- legac ii ttf-liberation 1.04.93-1Free fonts with the same metrics a ii ttf-mscorefonts-installer 2.7 Installer for Microsoft TrueType c Versions of packages openoffice.org suggests: ii cups-bsd1.3.8-1+lenny7 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii gstreamer0.10-f 0.10.4-3 FFmpeg plugin for GStreamer ii gstreamer0.10-p 0.10.7-2+lenny2 GStreamer plugins from the bad s ii gstreamer0.10-p 0.10.19-2GStreamer plugins from the base ii gstreamer0.10-p 0.10.8-4.1~lenny2GStreamer plugins from the good ii gstreamer0.10-p 0.10.8-1 GStreamer plugins from the ugly pn hunspell-dictio none (no description available) ii icedove 2.0.0.22-0lenny1 free/unbranded thunderbird mail/ne ii iceweasel 3.0.6-3 lightweight web browser based on M ii imagemagick 7:6.3.7.9.dfsg2-1~lenny3 image manipulation programs ii libgl1-mesa-glx 7.7.1-1 A free implementation of the OpenG ii libldap-2.4-2 2.4.11-1 OpenLDAP libraries ii libpaper-utils 1.1.23+nmu1 library for handling paper charact ii libsane 1.0.19-23API library for scanners ii libxrender1 1:0.9.4-2X Rendering Extension client libra ii menu2.1.41 generates programs menu for all me ii myspell-cs-cz [ 20040229-4.1 Czech dictionary for myspell ii myspell-en-us [ 1:3.2.0-2English_american dictionary for my ii myspell-sk [mys 0.5.5a-2.1 The Slovak dictionary for myspell pn openclipart-ope none (no description available) pn openoffice.org- none (no description available) ii openoffice.org- 1:3.2.0-4full-featured office productivity pn openoffice.org- none (no description available) ii openoffice.org- 1:3.2.0-4full-featured office productivity ii openoffice.org- 1:3.2.0-4full-featured office productivity ii openoffice.org- 1:3.2.0-4Czech Thesaurus for OpenOffice.org ii openoffice.org- 1:3.2.0-4Slovak Thesaurus for OpenOffice.or ii pstoedit3.45-4 PostScript and PDF files to editab ii sun-java6-jre [ 6-12-1 Sun Java(TM) Runtime Environment ( ii unixodbc2.2.11-16ODBC
