Bug#582360: mdadm: sends cron email when there are no arrays enabled

2010-05-20 Thread Tollef Fog Heen
Package: mdadm
Version: 3.0.3-2
Severity: normal

Currently, once in a while, mdadm (in testing at least) sends me mails
as follows below:

   From: r...@xx (Cron Daemon)
   Subject: Cron r...@xx [ -x /usr/share/mdadm/checkarray ] [ $(date +%d)
-le 7 ] /usr/share/mdadm/checkarray --cron --all --quiet (failed)
   To: r...@xx
   Date: Sun, 16 May 2010 00:57:01 +0100 (BST)

command failed with exit status 1

It would be nicer if it didnt't send any if the reason for it exiting
non-zero is that there are no arrays running.

Actually, I think this is due to the []-date test failing: #580825.

However, it is true that with the recent change in cron, checkarray
should not exit non-zero when there are no arrays, I guess.
I changed that to never exit non-zero, even if --cron is not given.
The warning is emitted if run without --cron, and that should be
enough.
