Hi there Jens,

I  have been looking into bug #683061 and Kurt Roeckx pointed me to
#582916 which you investigated last November.

I have trouble understanding exactly what the current behavior is and
what you expect.

Does getaddinfo() do what you expect on Ubuntu 13.04 which has
version 2.17-0ubuntu5 of eglibc?

Do you think that the bug has been properly fixed upstream?

And/or perhaps more importantly, has the bug been fixed in Debian unstable,
version 2.17-7, which closed related bug #713799?

   * debian/patches/any/cvs-getaddrinfo-EAI_NONAME.diff: new patch from
 upstream to return EAI_NONAME instead of EAI_SYSTEM when the network
 is down.  Closes: #713799.
