Some of the Maori translations have the wrong diacritical marks in that they have a diaresis instead of a macron. As the Maori language does not use the diaresis the cure is simple run this command in the source directory. sed -i '/^msgstr/ y/ÄËÏÖÜäëïöü/ĀĒĪŌŪāēīōū/' */mi.po Using the diaresis instead of the macron was a hack for systems that couldn't handle unicode, the user was expected to "use a typeface that had macron in place of diaresis".
