That solved my problem.
Thanks :-)

The problem doesn't come from the libc6 package, but from the command
telinit u which doesn't work correctly on your system.

This command comes from the sysvinit package. Could you please make sure
this package is correctly installed. You can also try to run the command
by hand to see what happens.

# apt-show-versions|grep sysvinit
sysvinit/unstable upgradeable from 2.88dsf-9 to 2.88dsf-11
sysvinit-utils/unstable upgradeable from 2.88dsf-9 to 2.88dsf-11

# telinit u
telinit: Can't open u

I tried to re-install sysvinit but apt-get always wants to finish the
setup of libc6.

Is there a way to finish the installation of libc6 before restarting
telinit ?

You can try to edit /var/lib/dpkg/info/libc6.postinst and remove the
call to telinit here. Then run apt-get install or dpkg --configure
-a.
