an application which has own mouse handling, e.g., ncurses  slang based
apps like mc) doesn't work any more. upstream patch #265 supposedly fixes
it.

can you please wait a few days? #265 went out *yesterday*. Anyway, it's
buggy and I'm waiting for #266[1].

yes... (my patch from last night might be all that's needed, but it won't 
hurt to look for other holes over the next day - Friday night patches 
usually seem to have something amiss).
