This is surely related, so I'm posting here.
I recently moved from Squeeze to Wheezy and found that closing Eclipse
would leave its Java process sleeping in memory.
Looking for a solution I've found this, which seems to be quite an old
bug related to AT-SPI:
Package: at-spi
Version: 1.30.1-3
Severity: normal
When I exit Gnome by closing the session or doing a shutdown the Gnome window
that says that a program is still running appears with at-spi-registryd not
responding as shown in the screenshot attached.
