The problem has an easy fix. Scim is ignoring your locale, add a line like
/SupportedUnicodeLocales = es_AR.utf8 (use your locale, this one is for español_Argentina. utf8 ) in /etc/scim/global Suggestion: A script could do this work at installation. Hernan
