The mounting sequence on Wheezy is something like:
thunar-volman (or thunar if auto-mounting is disabled) GIO - GVFS -
gdu monitor (from gvfs) using libgdu0 from gnome-disk-utility -
udisks
udisks is essential here, otherwise you will not be able to umount via
I have the same thing going on here. I get an apparently harmless error

If I kill gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor, the SDHC card disappears from Thunar, and
cannot be unmounted from the sidebar. If I kill only gvfsd, it is
