After a fresh install, visiting
http://localhost:5984/_utils/
brings up the futon UI, but gives a spinning progress indicator and I am unable
to create a database there. I can create a database with curl.
Furthermore, the init script appears to be fubar on my system:
$ /etc/init.d/couchdb stop [fail]
$ /etc/init.d/couchdb status
Apache CouchDB is not running.
$ pgrep couchdb
10301
10317
$ sudo /etc/init.d/couchdb start
Starting database server: couchdb.
$ sudo /etc/init.d/couchdb status
Apache CouchDB is running as process 12319, time to relax.
$ pgrep couchdb
10301
10317
12298
12318
I have added my regular user to the 'couchdb' group (is that what I'm supposed
to do? it's not documented in the README.Debian).
Let me know what info I can provide that would help.
