This annoying bug is still in. Maybe pbuilder should fallback to
hostname (or echo localhost) when hostname -f fails?

It's not clear when this new option was introduced, doesn't quite say in
'hostname' changelog.
Tobias, what's the distribution that's failing ? That should be fixed IMO.

man hostname says that 'hostname -f' should be avoided and replaced
with 'hostname --all-fqdns', which works fine for me.
Be careful with that – some dists don’t even have that option,
and if it’s called in the target this would also fail.
