Hi Julien, you are right. I am convinced now, that the problem 
has nothing to do with the xserver, although I found the error messages
quite confusing.

As far as I am concerned, the bug may be closed.

Before it worked fine, but I had to
remove older kernels.

I could not find the module fbcon and also did not find useful information on 
the internet.

I unseccesfully tried the vesa and the fbdev driver.
