Package: virt-manager Version: 0.9.0-1 Severity: normal (This is similar to bug 614291 but the cause is different.)
I have successfully used virt-manager to connect to a libvirt managed KVM server via SSH in the past. I'm not sure what caused the failure, but for the previously working qemu+ssh://jonathan@patonga/system connection I now get the following error message. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Unable to open a connection to the libvirt management daemon. Libvirt URI is: qemu+ssh://jonathan@patonga/system Verify that: - The 'libvirtd' daemon has been started Cannot recv data: No protocol specified (ssh-askpass:9481): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0 Permission denied, please try again. That, I think, is the problem. And, if I start the remote virtual machine via virsh then I can use virt-viewer to connect to the virtual machine's graphical console. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.0.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages virt-manager depends on: ii gconf2 2.32.4-1 ii librsvg2-common 2.34.1-2 ii python 2.6.7-3 ii python-dbus 0.84.0-2 ii python-glade2 2.24.0-2 ii python-gnome2 2.28.1-3 ii python-gtk-vnc 0.4.3-6 ii python-gtk2 2.24.0-2 ii python-ipy 1:0.72-1 ii python-libvirt 0.9.4-2 ii python-support 1.0.14 ii python-urlgrabber 3.9.1-4 ii python-vte 1:0.28.1-2 ii virtinst 0.600.0-1 Versions of packages virt-manager recommends: ii gnome-icon-theme 3.0.0-4 ii libvirt-bin 0.9.4-2 Versions of packages virt-manager suggests: ii gnome-keyring 3.0.3-2 ii hal <none> ii python-gnomekeyring 2.32.0-1+b1 ii ssh-askpass-gnome [ssh-askpass] 1:5.9p1-1 ii virt-viewer 0.4.1-3 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
