must be you ;-)

If you're running Debian try:

# mv /etc/asound.conf /etc/_asound.conf

Restart alsa or reboot.

If sound works as you exspected:

# rm /etc/_asound.conf

More infos you'll get probably on an achlinux mailinglist.
