I recently took over arpwatch maintenance and I'm working through the
list of open bugs. I'm writing you regarding a bug report about
arpwatch not starting you filed back in 2012 [1].
Is this issue still present in the version of arpwatch in Debian

Hi,
The arpwatch daemon doesn't start after the extraction of the debian
archive. Actually, it starts to listen in interface and stops
immediately as we can read in /var/log/daemon.log:
