 Hi Ricardo,

Can you install claws-mail-dbg and run claws-mail under gdb to obtain a
  backtrace?

See http://www.claws-mail.org/faq/index.php/Debugging_Claws if you need
  help with debugging.

regards,

unfortunately it refuses to launch, even after I made a chmod +x :(
 here's the screen log:

 /usr/lib/debug$ gdb ./usr/bin/claws-mail

Debugging symbols are not meant to be run, they are just data.

Just do: gdb claws-mail as written in the instructions you din't follow ;)
The debugger will take care of loading the debugging symbols by itself.

Obviously the only rational solution to your problem is suicide.

Dear Ma Intainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
I changed my setup to be the same as under squeeze

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)?

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Claws not to crash (allowed for polioticians, racists, extremists, integrists,
etc).

Bug#668287: claws-mail: Crashes when SMTP authentication is on (and SMTP don't need any auth.)

2012-04-10 Thread Paul
Hi Jean-Yves,

This (or something very similar) has already been reported elsewhere.

You are probably using the gtk-oxygen theme. The bug is in this
theme, change your GTK theme and all should be good.

Please let us know if this is wrong or right.

with regards

Paul
