Bug#671274: system-config-printer-kde: crash when trying to open Printer Configuration

2012-09-22 Thread Pavel Mihaduk
Hello,

Launching the module via kcmshell4 gave me more details about the bug:

$ kcmshell4 system-config-printer-kde
kcmshell(14040)/python (plugin): Failed to import module
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File /usr/share/kde4/apps/system-config-printer-kde/system-config-printer-
kde.py, line 75, in module
import authconn
  File /usr/share/kde4/apps/system-config-printer-kde/authconn.py, line 25,
in module
import gobject
ImportError: No module named gobject
[skipped]

After installing the python-gobject package with all it's dependencies the
output changed to:
$ kcmshell4 system-config-printer-kde
kcmshell(14756)/python (plugin): Error while running factory function for
Python plugin:  system-config-printer-kde/system-config-printer-kde.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File string, line 18, in kpythonpluginfactory_bridge
  File /usr/share/kde4/apps/system-config-printer-kde/system-config-printer-
kde.py, line 4387, in CreatePlugin
kcm = u.makeui(component_data, widget_parent)
  File /usr/share/kde4/apps/system-config-printer-kde/system-config-printer-

  File /usr/share/kde4/apps/system-config-printer-kde/authconn.py, line 168,

  File /usr/share/kde4/apps/system-config-printer-kde/authconn.py, line 200,
in _connect
encryption=self._encryption)
RuntimeError: failed to connect to server
[skipped]

Installing cups fixed the issue, so I guess the whole bug is only a matter of
missing dependencies.

Bug#671274: system-config-printer-kde: crash when trying to open Printer Configuration

2012-08-26 Thread ricky...@libero.it
Same problem. Fresh install of Wheezy, KDE 4.8.4, cups installated.

system-config-printer WORKS, and i can add new printers
system-config-printer-kde DOES NOT WORK and crashes

In Kubuntu 12.04 there isn't this problem, but it uses KDE 4.8.2.

Bug#671274: system-config-printer-kde: crash when trying to open Printer Configuration

2012-05-14 Thread mourad
Package: system-config-printer-kde
Version: 4:4.7.4-2
Followup-For: Bug #671274

Hi,

I confirm system-config-printer-kde crash if I try to open it.
The only console trace is :
KCrash: Application 'systemsettings' crashing...
KCrash: Attempting to start /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/drkonqi from kdeinit
sock_file=/home/mourad/.kde/socket-calamity-jane/kdeinit4__0

It is not very helpful :(

This is a fresh install in testing.

Regards

Mourad

2012-05-02 Thread Pablo Santamaria
Package: system-config-printer-kde
Version: 4:4.7.4-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
*** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

I can't configure a printer in KDE.

When I open Printer Configuration from System Settings, appears the next
message:

The service 'Printer Configuration' does not provide an interface 'KCModule'
with keyword 'system-config-printer-kde/system-config-printer-kde.py'The
factory does noto support creating components of the specidied type.

Next, I followed the same steps but running systemsettings through a console,
and i've got:
