Hi, I got access to a Sparc T1000 which supports VIO devices. When I tried wheezy beta2 installer on it, I also saw error messages caused by missing vio_type binary on the initial boot(bug #687454). Even though I'm not installing into LDOM, there are still some devices matching 'vio' subsystem, so the rules involving vio_type are triggered. All of the end up with VIO_TYPE=none, so no modules would be loaded as a result (that happens on regular boots), but still it would be nice to include vio_type in the udeb, so that no errors are produced.
I could test an installation into LDOM, but it's clear that it's not going to work out of the box while vio_type binary is not available in installer's initrd.
