Currently, if an option in /etc/resolv.conf is preceded by a space then the
option is not recognized.

This fact is documented, not entirely explicitly, in resolv.conf(5) which
says

    The keyword and value must appear on a single line,
    and the keyword (e.g., nameserver) must start the line.

It is quite common, however, for configuration syntaxes to allow whitespace
at the beginnings of lines (which will be ignored).  Here is a case where
this gave someone some trouble.

I request that leading whitespace on lines in resolv.conf be ignored.
