Dear Maintainer,

The repositories dialog lists and configures each sources “section(s)”
like “main”, “contrib”.  The correct term is areas, or components, as
per other Debian and Apt documentation.  The debian-policy section 2.4
specifies that the sections are the categories underneath the area.

In sources.list(5), the syntax of these lines is defined as
distribution/component.  As the dialog in question relates directly to
this, I suggest using the term component.

There are possibly other areas in synaptic that misuse the term
“section”.
