Package: netsurf-fb Version: 2.9-2 Severity: grave Dear Maintainer,
this bug report may be related to http://bugs.debian.org/684028, but the error messages are different and the workaround from #684028 does not help, so I'm reporting this as a separate issue. When trying to start netsurf-fb on the Linux console of my EeePC 900A, netsurf-fb prints the error message Unable to init SDL: Unable to open mouse and exits with return code 1. (Removing gpm does not change the situation.) If I set SDL_NOMOUSE=1 and export it, the error message vanishes, but netsurf-fb still exits immediately with return code 1 without any further output. In comparison, "links2 -g" (version 2.7-2 without libsvga support, but with framebuffer support) works fine on the very same console. Even the mouse works (at least while gpm is running, haven't checked without). So for me it looks like netsurf-fb doesn't work at all in Sid(*) despite it should be able to, hence severity grave. In case this issue doesn't show up generally, feel free to downgrade the severity. (*) Haven't tried on e.g. Wheezy (which currently has the same version as Sid) or on different hardware. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (900, 'testing'), (899, 'testing-proposed-updates'), (600, 'stable'), (500, 'proposed-updates'), (200, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.10-rc4-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages netsurf-fb depends on: ii libc6 2.17-5 ii libcurl3 7.30.0-2 ii libfreetype6 2.4.9-1.1 ii libjpeg8 8d-1 ii libpng12-0 1.2.49-4 ii libsdl1.2debian 1.2.15-5 ii libssl1.0.0 1.0.1e-3 ii libvncserver0 0.9.9+dfsg-1 ii libxcb-icccm4 0.3.9-2 ii libxcb-image0 0.3.9-1 ii libxcb-keysyms1 0.3.9-1 ii libxcb-shm0 1.8.1-2+deb7u1 ii libxcb-util0 0.3.8-2 ii libxcb1 1.8.1-2+deb7u1 ii libxml2 2.9.0+dfsg1-4 ii netsurf-common 2.9-2 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-1 Versions of packages netsurf-fb recommends: ii mime-support 3.54 netsurf-fb suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
