I have determined that the ViewSelector gets passed a box more than 3000
pixels in with
in the allocate method. My screen is only 1366 pixel wide.
In the end a Shell GenericContainer component emits this signal, but it is
written in C, not javascript.
Which is the best way to recompile

Dear Maintainer,
in overview mode, search field, app menu, workspaces, are not visible.
Actually it appears as though I had a much larger display so that all these
