Package: tor Version: 0.2.3.25-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, *** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
* What led up to the situation? Starting tor * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? install tor package. * What was the outcome of this action? tor is started, but nowwhere does it say what the default exit-policy is. i.e.: it could be that, just by installing this package, your computer becomes a tor exit-node, which could expose you to certain risks. /etc/torrc, from what i can see, only mentions that it uses the default policies, but I couldnt find twhat that policy is anywhere? If the default policy actually is to be a potential exit node, then I would think that users should at the very least be warned, or even better prompted about this. * What outcome did you expect instead? clearer documentation and/or a prompt during the install procedure. *** End of the template - remove these lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages tor depends on: ii adduser 3.113+nmu3 ii libc6 2.13-38 ii libevent-2.0-5 2.0.19-stable-3 ii libssl1.0.0 1.0.1e-2 ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian8+deb7u1 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.7.dfsg-13 Versions of packages tor recommends: ii logrotate 3.8.1-4 ii tor-geoipdb 0.2.3.25-1 ii torsocks 1.2-3 Versions of packages tor suggests: pn apparmor-utils <none> pn mixmaster <none> pn polipo | privoxy <none> pn socat <none> pn tor-arm <none> pn xul-ext-torbutton <none> -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
