Hello again,
I've attached here a 2nd patch that enable the setuid wrapper (and
replaces the X binary that is currently shipped by the xserver-xorg
binary package).
I've tested with the radeon driver (1:7.4.0-2) and
xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.9.0-1. Unfortunately but it's NOT
currently working
Hello,
So I've made some tests tonight and it seems to work.
I've added a patch that add initial support for this (didn't look at
the setuid wrapper yet).
It also requires xserver-xorg-input-evdev 2.9.0.
You can run the following command if you want to test (be sure you
have a logind session

I didn't test all of this yet, but before does that sound like

It would be nice, yes. I want to land xserver 1.16 without it first,
but we should have plenty of time to land this before

systemd library, everything is done using dbus calls[0].
Enabling the suid-wrapper is causing severals binaries to be renamed
and/or added:
The main Xorg
Source: xorg-server
Version: 2:1.15.99.902-1
Severity: wishlist
Hi,
I guess we should consider enabling logind support in X for the next
jessie release.
This would allow us to run X without root permissions if the card is
supported by KMS. For legacy card we should also ship the
suid-wrapper[1]
