Bug#748646: tshark: error/warning during startup

2014-05-19 Thread Arturo Borrero Gonzalez
Package: tshark
Version: 1.8.2-5wheezy10
Severity: minor

Dear maintainer,

something weird happens to tshark:

root@debian:~# tshark -D
tshark: Lua: Error during loading:
[string /usr/share/wireshark/init.lua]:45: dofile has been disabled
1. eth0
[...]

This happens with the package tshark freshly installed.

Although the word 'error' being very ugly, tshark worked as expected.

 Package: tshark
 Version: 1.8.2-5wheezy10

This happens with the package tshark freshly installed.

Although the word 'error' being very ugly, tshark worked as expected.
The full error message is the following and includes a link and an explanation:
[string /usr/share/wireshark/init.lua]:46: dofile has been disabled
due to running Wireshark as superuser. See
http://wiki.wireshark.org/CaptureSetup/CapturePrivileges for help in
running Wireshark as an unprivileged user.

Cheers,
Balint
