Wearing my translator's hat:

Monsieur Racine: any news?
Kibi: yes, a package cleaned from the mess generated by my
  comaintainers is waiting in unstable
M. Racine: so it needs an unblock
Kibi: yes, which is part of my duties as D-I release management tasks,
which I'll do as I'm always doing when D-I is released. Please
  let me do my job.
(hopefully) M. Racine: OK, then, I'll nag other
   maintainers until they're also too
   annoyed by me

(dropping out people explicitly CC'ed as all really concerned people
are already susbcribed to -boot, being maintainers of console-setup)

However, the package is currently blocked because of the freeze and it
would need an unblock request to propagate into Testing.

'd console-setup' says binary diffs and:

Trying to rebuild a clean source package from git (adding just a
changelog entry) I'm still getting this, between 1.114 and 1.116:
 55 files changed, 100 insertions(+), 9257 deletions(-)

(Without binary diffs this time.)

I'm really uncomfortable with vouching for such an unblock.

The person doing the upload did not do so cleanly.
There is an extra subdirectory fontconfig/ in the
.tgz recently, which has 940'632 bytes in 96 files
in 1.115 (I noticed because I regularily rebuild
console-setup locally, with local patches; my own
builds do not have that directory).

I know. That's not the part I'm worried about, see the portion of my

I would tend to agree.

In that case, the fix will need to be backported to 1.114 and entered
via TPU. Without it, support for Finnish remains partially broken.

That…

Actually, I think that the 1.115 upload contained spurious
and probably unwanted and possibly broken changes. Please
find attached a debdiff for 1.115+nmu1 against 1.114 which
contains only the apparently-right changes. AFAICT these
 were all file deletions (@@ -* +0,0 @@).

We should upload this to unstable and let that propagate,
reverting those file deletions in the source package, for
now. The changes to Fonts/soft.Makefile are automatically
generated and should be ignored for the purpose of this.
Feel free to do so, with the package I prepared. (I can’t
 do that at the moment.)
