Hi, I just reinstalled a system today and managed to find the issue- I replace marco with xmonad and that makes mate-terminal segfault. I basically do: dconf write /org/mate/desktop/session/required-components/windowmanager 'xmonad' to do this. So this is probably not RC by a long shot.
