3.16 from backports doesn't seem to make a difference.

How do I figure out which kernels are supported by this intel driver?

Many thanks,

libdrm-intel1 2.4.58-2 from jessie seems to have solved the issue. At
least get X to start!

Can I hassle someone from a backport I wonder? :)

Bug#773419: xserver-xorg-video-intel: bpo package breaks on newer Intel machines

2014-12-18 Thread hendry
Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Version: 2:2.21.15-2~bpo70+1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I updated from 2:2.19.0-6 - 2:2.21.15-2~bpo70+1, tested it on my own
machine (X220), however it results in X failing to start on ~2014 Intel
based hardware. Therefore after much stress I had to revert the change
on my Debian based Web kiosks.
https://github.com/Webconverger/webc/commits/master

There must be some dependency not declared or something else I'm
missing, because the same version 2:2.21.15-2+b2 works fine on a Jessie
based system.

I will buy you a drink in Singapore,

Seems like you're using an old unsupported kernel.

Cheers,
