Would it be possible to split parcimonie-applet to its own package, so that
parcimonie itself can be installed on headless systems?
Agreed, this would be good. I'm unsure how to proceed, though. Also,
I've deep changes in mind regarding how the applet and the daemon
communicate with each other,

parcimonie depends on libgtk3-perl, which means that it cannot be installed on a
headless system without including a bunch of dependencies. The reason for this
