Install the 'nvidia-detect'
Those of you who have this problem please log in using kdm and then run:
LANG=C glxinfo | grep '^OpenGL version string: ' | head -n 1 | sed -e
's/^OpenGL version string: \([0-9]\).*$/\1/g'
If the output is a number less than 2 install the following script in
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/
Package: sddm
Version: 0.13.0-1
Followup-For: Bug #797999

Hi Eric,
Unfortunately no. This is likely to be due to docking as I now have a
half dozen boxes that work with sddm the only one that fails is a docked
laptop.

Package: sddm
Version: 0.11.0-4
Severity: important
If I do dpkg-reconfigure sddm, select it and reboot, I just get a black
screen, with X running, no cursor, no mouse nothing in/var/log/sddm.log
Note its a docked laptop, with external monitor used, lid closed and laptop
monitor automatically
