Just updated to the new version in testing (1:2.6.1-1), ran into this bug for
"gitk --all"
It seems to work for "gitk" though.

i also did some further tests which locales are affected, and it seems that
*all* locales that are shipped with gitk fail:
bg, ca, de, es, fr, hu, it, ja, pt_br, ru, sv, vi
