Dear MIA-team,

tl;dr: old maintainer appears inactive, I'd like to initiate the MIA-process, take over, and update the package.

it appears to me that the maintainer of "python-gtkspellcheck", namely Carlos Miguel Jenkins Pérez <car...@jenkins.co.cr> (who receives this mail due to the bug-CC), has gone missing in action.

So here's my summary according to the guide [1] for this situation:
- "they just need[ed] a reminder" -> False, as direct contact failed.
- "they just need[ed] a reminder" -> False, as direct contact by Maximilian Köhl (upstream author of python-gtkspellcheck) failed. - "they just need[ed] a reminder" -> False, as opening yet another bug failed: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=830509 - "MIA Scripts" [2] -> I didn't intend to do any of these, although I have send the "initial" mails (because I think that's more polite) and created the bug (ditto). - echelon -> I assume that Carlos Pérez is not a registered DM. Neither am I, so 'm not sure. - "number of packages this maintainer is responsible for" -> 1, only python-gtkspellcheck - "any RC bugs that have been open for ages?" -> Not RC, but an "important" one since Feb 2016, and a "normal" one since Sep 2015. - "whether the packages have been NMUed" -> Yes, once, in order to fix some serious issue. The last NMUer made it clear that he is not interested in maintaining the package. [3] - "Is there any activity of the maintainer outside of Debian?" -> A Google search for any activity after 2015 comes up clear [4]. There's some activity on GitHub and StackOverflow, though, so I assume/hope he's well, and just not interested in python-gtkspellcheck anymore. - "you need to find and contact the Debian developer who has actually uploaded the package" -> not sure how to do that :(

Some context:
I'm primarily interested in seeing the package updated (as reportbug depends on it, and I think it's a nice thing). So if Carlos Pérez can do another upload, I'd welcome him back :) If that doesn't work out (and it looks like it won't), I'd like to take over the package (which involves getting Carlos Pérez marked as MIA), and upload a newer version of python-gtkspellcheck.

Cheers,
Ben Wiederhake
